What a Dogwood!

I have 4.5 Cornus florida dogwoods in my Yarden. Yes I typed Yarden. My whole yard is my garden.
The half dogwood just peaks out of the woods in the back adding light to a dark spot. The woods to the south of us has dozens of 5-6 foot baby dogwoods that bloomed just this year. What a sight.
Getting out in the yarden this weekend is a must. I have transplanting galore to do and looking forward to it. Newer gardens I started last year have established themselves well.
CREEPING CHARLIE:
Thanks to my mother-in-law, we recieved this ground cover on accident with a daylily she gave us two years ago. I like the foliage and the flowers. It is not a threat to healthy native plants and it's an edible herb.
So, okay, its a bit of a weed. But it flowers and to me if you flower, you can stay in my yarden. When all you have is full to partial shade to play with, you'll take just about anything that adds color.

Japanese Rose
Kerria japonica :
I recieved these beauties three years ago from a friend who wanted them out of her yard so she could plant a sweet flower garden.
We picked up these bushes in my husband's festiva hatchback!! Inhaling exhaust fumes and getting strange looks, It took us only three trips to get them all.
They were longer than the car and I didn't want to cut them back anymore so they dragged on the street for the whole ride!
Poor things. I knew they were invasive and therefore tuff enough to handle the abuse and survive.
We ended up with a hedge row of twenty feet when we were done.

Thanks again Corrine. They are doing beautifully!

Thank you Cindy. Swoop by on your way to Corrines, I'd love to give you a tour. Hey! How about taking some plants back with you? Are you readdy for some?
Just now catching up on the blogs. Ay, the yarden!!! What a beauty it is! Soon and soon we need to hike my friend--the first wave of spring flowers has passed but there are always more coming up behind. The rosary is gorgeous and we shall see where all this leads...
